The long run costs and financing of HIV/AIDS in South Africa

CEGAA and the Results for Development Institute estimated the future costs of the HIV/AIDS response through to 2031 and is using the findings - in collaboration with the South African National AIDS Council (SANAC), the Department of Health (DoH), the National Treasury, donors and the business sector - to develop a long-term plan for sustainable financing. The National Treasury has since dramatically increased public allocations made to the DoH HIV/AIDS programme in 2010/11 and over the period of the Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
