OSF-SA Project on Health and Rights

Monitoring and Evaluation of the National Health (NHI) Insurance for Effective Health Care Financing and Implementation in South Africa The project seeks to intensify the health care monitoring effort, and to highlight and bring about a positive change in health issues in general, and HIV/AIDS and reproductive health issues in particular, through the monitoring of the NHI pilot phase at two districts in South Africa (OR Tambo and Umgungundlovu, with technical support provided to Thabo Mofutsanyana District in Free State Province). The project aims to bridge the gap between policy making, budget planning, implementation and reporting, through monitoring, evaluation and advocating for an improved NHI implementation process at pilot site level.
