National Budget Analysis Parliamentarian Engagement Meeting

On Friday 8 July 2022, the BMET lead organisation Child Rights Coalition (CRC) conducted a National Budget Analysis Parliamentarian Engagement Meeting, which was very interactive and exciting. In attendance were chairpersons of Specialized Committees supporting 3 targeted ministries,  Members of Sub-Clusters in Parliament, Commissioner of the Human Rights Commission, Directors of R2G Consortium members,  Media and Children representatives.

The Members of the Parliament (MPs) appreciated the role of CRC in budget advocacy and welcomed the evidence generated. They acknowledged that it's good time to learn about the gaps in the previous budgets which will inform the current budget process during parliamentary sitting. They encouraged CRC to provide evidence-based data on issues affecting children to inform their discussions.
